WhatsApp will, with the help of this update, allow an optional feature for businesses to add a verified badge to their channels. Recently this feature has been released for beta users. Currently, this update is in the beta stage. It is expected that the brand will soon release this update for all users.
This update of WhatsApp has been introduced with its own identified build number, which is v2.24.1.18. Users can easily locate the update by this version number. The update is only available to a few lucky beta testers as it is in the beta stage.
With this new update of WhatsApp, WhatsApp is introducing a new screen for businesses. This update allows users to add a verified badge to their channel. Businesses will be allowed to receive the verified badge for their channels simply by subscribing to Meta Verified.
Additionally, the brand has determined that the ability to add verified badges to channels will not be extended to individual users and non-commercial accounts. It will be mandatory to always align the channel details with the supplementary business details to prevent misuse of the impersonation and verification system. This feature of WhatsApp is in the development stage and will soon be available to all users.
