HyperOS developed by Xiaomi, is a new operating system rooted in Android, shedding MIUI updates. It boasts enhanced security, a higher performance, and a more user-friendliness UI.

Xiaomi’s new bootloader unlocking policy is a significant change from the company’s previous policy. Under the new policy, users will have more difficulty unlocking their bootloader, and devices with an unlocked bootloader will no longer receive Android updates from Xiaomi.

Xiaomi has announced a new bootloader unlocking policy for its HyperOS operating system. Under the new policy, bootloader unlocking will be disabled by default on all HyperOS devices, and users who wish to unlock their bootloader will need to request permission from Xiaomi. Additionally, Xiaomi will no longer provide Android updates for devices with an unlocked bootloader.

The brand Xiaomi has also confirmed that bootloader unlocking will, as expected, be disabled out of the box on HyperOS smartphones. The company disclosed the bearing in an email to Android Authority’s questions. 

Xiaomi explained that the new policy is necessary to protect the device’s security, avoid data leakage, and provide users with a more secure and stable user experience. However, the move has been met with criticism from some users, who argue that it restricts their freedom to modify their devices and install custom ROMs.
