Samsung Galaxy S22 and Galaxy Note 20 Series Gets January 2024 Security Update

Samsung is rolling out the January 2024 security update to improve the experience of its users. As the days are passing by, more Galaxy devices are getting the January 2024 security update. Recently the security update of Galaxy S22 and Note 20 series devices also to January 2024 has been released.

Galaxy S22 Series

The latest update for the Galaxy S22, S22+, and S22 Ultra is being rolled out by Samsung in North American countries. However, it will not take more than a few days for Samsung to spread it to more and more regions around the world. Soon this update will be released by Samsung in all other regions. Below are the released build versions of this update:

  • Galaxy S22: S901EXXS7DWL8
  • Galaxy S22 Plus: S906EXXS7DWL8
  • Galaxy S22 Ultra: S908EXXS7DWL8

Galaxy Note 20 Series

Samsung is also rolling out the January 2024 security update for the Galaxy Note 20 5G and Note 20 Ultra 5G. Currently, this update by Samsung is available for carrier-locked models in the US. Samsung will soon release this update for unlocked models also. Soon this update will be released in many other regions also. Below are the released build versions of this update:

  • Galaxy Note 20 5G: N981USQS6HWL5
  • Galaxy Note 20 Ultra 5G: N986USQS6HWL5

More than 75 vulnerabilities have been patched by Samsung in the January 2024 security patch for Galaxy devices. Five of them are from Samsung. These include fixes for vulnerabilities related to Notification Service and MyFiles. This update also fixes an issue with the SMR Bluetooth pairing process.
