Google stuck to three years of Wear OS updates on the Pixel Watch 3

Just like Google is ready to provide software updates for its smartphones for 7 years, Pixel Watch 3 is also set to get updates for three years after its launch.

The Google Pixel Watch 3 is scheduled to receive updates until October 2027. Software updates will be available for three years after it first became available on the Google Store in the US. This language is unchanged from the Pixel Watch and Pixel Watch 2.

It’s worth noting that Google has set October 2027 for the Pixel Watch 3, even though it’s launching a month earlier.

Google doesn’t distinguish between “guaranteed Android version updates” and “guaranteed security updates” for Wear OS. It’s just “guaranteed software updates, ” including Google Pixel Watch security updates, feature drops, and other software updates.

The Google Pixel Watch 2 is slated for Wear OS 5. It remains to be seen what the Pixel Watch 3 gets. Google has been good so far at rolling out new features to older devices.
