Nothing OS 3.0 Officially Teased: New Lockscreen Customization and Interactive Dot Animations

Nothing has officially been revealed about Nothing OS 3.0. The CEO of Nothing recently shared a post on “X App” and shared information about the Nothing OS 3.0 update with the lock screen.

This will be a major update for Nothing phones, which will be based on Android 14. This upcoming update will introduce a new user interface and many exciting features and capabilities.

The teased screenshots also hint at a change to the interface, with 3 new styles to choose from. The default style displayed only shows the clock, date, and day.

The second style, i.e. Clock+Widgets style, features a dotted font clock with a weather widget, contact widget, and a quick action shortcut. The third style, i.e. Extended widget area style, is an improved version of Clock+Widgets, with larger tiles for a more detailed display.

Apart from this, the CEO has also shared about the upcoming interactive dot animation. This animation used on the quick setting panel will have three layers which are the input image layer, live interaction layer and the final output layer. Its purpose is to make the user experience more interactive and engaging.

The company’s CEO has confirmed that Nothing OS 3.0 will be officially announced in September 2024. More details will be shared in the future, revealing new features and changes.
