March 2024 security update rolling out for Pixel devices

Google has started rolling out the Android 14 QPR2 stable update including the March 2024 security update to eligible Pixel devices. Eligible Pixel devices include the Pixel 5a, Pixel 6, Pixel 6 Pro, Pixel 6a, Pixel 7, Pixel 7 Pro, Pixel 7a, Pixel Tablet, Pixel Fold, 8, and Pixel 8 Pro, respectively.

This software update is currently being released in batches via OTA (over the air).

March 2024 security update rolling out for Pixel devices with Android 14 QPR2

It brings bug fixes and improvements to Pixel devices. This update also shows the quick settings tile for Bluetooth now up to three connected devices, the battery status of the connected device, a quick switch to ‘saved’ accessories, etc.

Additionally, the Android 14 QPR2 update also gives a single app option for screen recording or screen casting features instead of displaying the entire screen. Meanwhile, the Pixel’s weather lock screen clock has also been updated and is visible even when Do Not Disturb (DND) is enabled.

The March 2024 security patch update contains 13 security risk fixes and 25 security threat fixes. All of these security vulnerabilities range from high to critical that can affect device data and systems.

You can go to Settings > System > Software Update to check for available OTA updates. Tap Download and Install to get the update, if available.
