Google Workspace gets a new update

Google is recently releasing updates to Google Workspace. This new update includes new features. After Google released the client-side encryption capability of Google Docs, users can now edit encrypted documents, make comments, etc. simultaneously.

Google’s goal of this feature is to simulate unencrypted documents and protect user data with encryption keys. This feature of Google will soon be available for Google Sheets and Slides. Users can specify viewer and editor permissions when sharing encrypted files. Plus the autosave feature automatically saves comments.

End users can learn more about encrypted file sharing by using the User Help Center. Additionally, administrators can activate client-side encryption at the domain, OU, and group levels. Google Rapid Release began on January 16, 2024 for domains and will end on February 1, 2024 for Slated Release domains. It is available to Google Workspace Enterprise Plus, Education Standard, and Plus customers.
